How Your Custom Wedding Dress Order Works

The confirmations, milestones, and timing behind a custom wedding dress order.

Vi reviews each brief before quoting. Production starts only after the quote, deposit, and required fit details are confirmed.

First message

Start with a short brief

You do not need a complete spec. Send enough context for Vi to review feasibility before payment is discussed.

  • wedding date or target delivery month
  • delivery city and country
  • dress brief, inspiration images, or reference links
  • preferred silhouette, fabric direction, and main fit concerns

A short note is enough to start. Vi will ask follow-up questions where needed.

Before deposit

What is confirmed before paying

A production deposit is requested only after the dress direction is clear enough to quote.

  • quote or quote range based on design scope
  • timeline feasibility and any rush concerns
  • what is included, excluded, and still pending
  • payment milestones and official payment instructions

Submitting the form does not commit you to an order.

Step by step

What happens at each stage

The flow is simple: review the brief, confirm the quote and measurements, make the dress, share final QC, then dispatch.

  1. 01

    Inquiry

    What happens
You send your wedding date, delivery city and country, dress brief, inspiration links, and main fit concerns.
    What we confirm
Whether the project looks feasible, what Vi needs next, and whether the timeline needs review.

    No payment is required.

  2. 02

    Consultation & Quote

    What happens
Vi reviews silhouette, fabric direction, structure, fit needs, timeline, and shipping plan. If the brief needs adjustment, she explains why.
    What we confirm
Written quote or quote range, inclusions, exclusions, milestones, and official payment instructions.

Payment is requested only after review and written confirmation.

  3. 03

    Remote Fitting Review

    What happens
You complete the guided measurement checklist. Vi checks the numbers before fabric is cut.
    What we confirm
Measurements are consistent, or you receive a request to recheck, send a photo, or clarify.
  4. 04

    Atelier Production

    What happens
Once deposit and fit details are confirmed, the atelier prepares your pattern, materials, structure, and finishing plan.
    What we confirm
Progress updates where useful: structure, lace or beading, silhouette, and key finishing checkpoints.
  5. 05

    Bride Review & Final QC

    What happens
Before final balance is requested, VI Dressmakers shares QC photos or video of the finished dress.
    What we confirm
Front, back, closure, hem, lining, train, structure, and overall finish before dispatch.
  6. 06

    International Shipping

    What happens
After final balance and agreed shipping fees, your dress is packed and sent with tracking where available.
    What we confirm
Tracking when dispatched. Customs duties and import charges are your responsibility unless stated in your quote.

Quote & payment

Pricing is confirmed after review

Custom wedding dresses are quoted after Vi reviews design, fit needs, timeline, and shipping plan. There is no fixed checkout price or package menu.

  • Reviewed first

The brief, delivery city and country, timeline, fit needs, and design complexity are reviewed before a quote is issued.

  • Scope drives investment

Silhouette, fabric, bodice structure, lace or beading, train, timeline, and shipping requirements affect the quote.

  • Confirmed before payment

You see the scope, what is pending, and the payment milestones before a production deposit is requested.

Payment

Payment milestones

No payment is required to inquire.

Most confirmed custom wedding dress orders use two milestones:

  1. Production Deposit

Paid after consultation and written quote to reserve production.

  2. Final Balance

Paid before dispatch, after you have received final QC photos or video for review.

Any agreed shipping-related fees are confirmed in writing before dispatch.

Payment methods may include international bank transfer (USD) and Secure Online Payment (Card Supported). Every payment request should match your written quote or invoice: invoice number, amount, currency, milestone, and official channel. Because each dress is made for one bride, production deposits are generally non-refundable once the order is scheduled, materials are prepared or purchased, fabric is cut, or custom work has started.

Written confirmation

What is confirmed before production

After inquiry, Vi reviews

  • dress direction
  • timeline feasibility
  • measurement needs
  • quote or quote range
  • shipping considerations

Before production starts

  • final scope and inclusions
  • fit and measurement requirements
  • production deposit
  • final balance amount and due timing
  • official payment instructions

Submitting the form is not an order commitment.

Timeline

Timeline

Plan for consultation, production, dispatch, and possible local alterations.

Production usually takes 8–12 weeks, depending on the dress complexity, materials, structure, lace or beading, and current atelier schedule.

International brides should also allow time for

  • consultation and quote confirmation
  • remote fitting review
  • production updates
  • final QC review
  • final balance
  • international shipping
  • possible local alterations after delivery

Remote orders

What Remote Wedding Dress Ordering Can and Cannot Promise

Remote ordering works best when measurements, expectations, and limits are handled clearly.

What the process helps with

  • clarifying dress direction
  • reviewing measurements before production continues
  • catching inconsistent numbers early
  • sharing production updates where useful
  • preparing final QC before balance
  • coordinating dispatch where available

What it cannot guarantee

  • the same fit process as in-person fittings
  • zero local alterations
  • no body changes before the wedding
  • no customs or courier delays
  • every design within every timeline or budget

Common questions

Questions about the process

Do I need to pay before consultation?

No. Send your inquiry first. Payment is requested only after your brief has been reviewed and the next step is confirmed.

How does payment work?

Most confirmed custom wedding dress orders use two milestones: production deposit, then final balance before dispatch after QC photos or video. Payment methods may include international bank transfer (USD) and Secure Online Payment (Card Supported). Payment instructions are shared after consultation, written quote, and confirmed next steps. The order remains custom-made for your measurements and design direction. The same production-deposit policy applies once production is scheduled or custom work has started.

How is pricing quoted?

Vi reviews the design scope first, then confirms a written quote or quote range based on silhouette, fabric, structure, lace or beading, timeline, and shipping requirements.

Will I see the dress before dispatch?

Yes. Final QC photos or video are shared for your review before final balance and dispatch.

Can you guarantee perfect fit?

Remote fitting review helps reduce sizing risk, but small local alterations may still be needed after delivery.

Do you ship internationally?

We arrange international shipping with tracked courier options where available. Estimated delivery depends on destination, courier, customs, and local handling.
