Before measuring
Measurements — whether by video call, local tailor, or studio visit — are easier to plan after Vi understands the dress, timeline, delivery or pickup plan, and main fit concerns.
Share your wedding date or target delivery month, plus the delivery city and country where the dress must arrive.
Send reference images, links, silhouette notes, fabric direction, and any detail you care about most.
Tell us about support needs, body areas you are nervous about, comfort limits, and planned undergarments.
Height, heel height, and ceremony shoe plan help Vi review hem length, proportion, and train behaviour.

Bust, waist, and hip alone do not describe how a bridal gown will sit. Shoulder width, torso length, armhole, posture, heel height, and silhouette all affect construction.

Measurement guide
The illustration shows the main areas that may be reviewed for a custom wedding dress.
Vi confirms which measurements your specific dress needs after consultation.
Bust, chest width, shoulder width, front bodice length, back length, back width, and neckline.
Natural waist, high hip, full hip, and waist-to-hip distance.
Sleeve length, armscye, upper arm, and side length.
Inseam and thigh measurements are only needed for bridal pants, jumpsuits, or designs with special leg-fit requirements.
You receive a guided checklist. Vi reviews your numbers before production, so you do not need tailoring vocabulary to start.
Do not pull the tape too tight or measure over thick clothing.
What to wear
Thin, close-fitting clothing and the bra or undergarment you plan to wear with the gown. Avoid thick layers unless they are part of your wedding look.
Unsure about technique?
For brides measuring independently, send a short WhatsApp video or voice note so Vi can check the tape position before confirming the number.
Before we cut
Small mistakes are normal remotely. Vi reviews for common issues before they affect the gown.
Tape pulled too tight around the waist
Leave enough room to breathe.
Bust measured with the wrong bra
Wear the closest match to your wedding undergarment.
Hollow-to-floor taken without wedding shoes
Heel height changes hem length significantly.
Shoulder width measured too wide or narrow
Follow the natural shoulder seam line.
Hip measured at the wrong point
Full hip is the widest point, usually 7–9 inches below natural waist.
Sleeve length taken with a locked arm
Measure with the arm slightly relaxed.
If something looks unusual, Vi asks for a recheck before production continues.
Design tools
Vi may recommend features that make a remote order more adjustable. These are tools, not defaults, and not every option suits every gown.
Corset back
Small bodice and waist adjustments when exact waist is hard to confirm remotely.
Inner waist stay
Anchors the gown without relying only on the outer structure.
Structured bodice
Supports strapless, low-back, or backless designs where the bodice carries the load.
Adjustable straps
Shoulder balance when shoulder-to-bust measurements are uncertain.
Built-in seam allowance
Room for a local tailor to make small post-delivery adjustments.
Detachable sleeves or overskirt
Separates complex shoulder work from the core bodice fit.
Fit risk by silhouette
A-line and ballgown orders concentrate fit work around the bodice. Mermaid and column orders need closer review through the hip, thigh, posture, and fabric movement. Vi checks this before production starts.

Honest limits
Remote custom work can be precise and documented. Bridal fit is personal, so small local alterations may still be the final step after delivery.
Before dispatch
The finished gown is documented and shared with you for review before final balance and dispatch.
