Kathleen messaged me from Australia on 30 April 2026 with a lace mermaid reference. The original look was more sheer, with beige underlining. Her priority was different: keep the lace drama, but make the final gown white, bridal, and covered. This case shows how I confirm those details remotely before shipping.

01
Bride Vision
Kathleen did not need a design from scratch. She sent lace mermaid references with an off-shoulder neckline, long sleeves, and detachable-train volume. She was warm in the conversation, but very clear about the finish she wanted.
The inspiration used beige or nude-tone underlining, so the lace looked more skin-toned and see-through. For Kathleen’s gown, I translated that into white underlining so the lace still had texture, but the final photos would feel covered and bridal.
”I would like to look more photos of similar designs.”
Inspiration references only

These references set the shape. They were not copied as a sheer beige gown; Kathleen’s build was planned around white underlining.
02
Design Direction
The silhouette was already clear, so one working sketch was enough: off-shoulder mermaid, long lace sleeves, detachable train, and white underlining. The important decision was not the sketch count; it was confirming that the lace would read bridal and covered.

Silhouette
Off-shoulder lace mermaid
A fitted mermaid base with long lace sleeves and an off-shoulder neckline.
Train
Detachable train
Ceremony volume without changing the fitted mermaid base.

Lining
White underlining
White underlining kept the lace delicate without the beige, see-through finish.

Process

30 April 2026
Kathleen sent her reference, delivery country, and wedding date. I confirmed the custom direction: lace mermaid, detachable-train presence, and white underlining.
Production
The first proof checked the parts visible from far away: fitted mermaid body, long lace sleeves, and ceremony train volume.

Remote QC
We reviewed back lacing, snap details, train support, and lining coverage before approval.

Coverage adjustment
The underlining was rechecked against Kathleen’s covered-finish request. The goal was to keep the lace visible without the beige, see-through effect of the inspiration.

7-11 August 2026
After approval, we packed the dress on 7 August, shipped it on 8 August, and it was delivered in Australia on 11 August. Public proof is redacted.

Final Result
Kathleen’s wedding is on 1 October 2026, so I am not publishing bride-wearing photos yet. For now, this page shows public-safe proof: final QC, packing for Australia, delivery confirmation, and her feedback. Private address and tracking details stay redacted.
